I guess those days off from school when my 6 year old daughter Amanda has come to the office to visit has made a lasting impression. She was asked at school to write an autobiography about herself and what she wants to be when she grows up. Well I was surprised when I read, “When I grow up I want to be a knitter. I will make blankets. I am special because I like to make scarves.” She then complimented her work with a drawing of me teaching her how to knit. I guess in looking at the picture you can figure I am the one with the big smile on my face.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

I considered this an immensely fortunate sign ( at a time when people hesitated to knit in public) and knew I had landed in the right place. What is your favorite thing about working at Lion Brand? Even when people don\u2019t necessarily agree with or understand the point of an initiative I believe in, they are willing to let me try it. What do you do when you\u2019re not working at Lion Brand? I spend time as much time as possible with my family. I do Yoga two to three times a week so I don\u2019t stiffen up completely and topple over. What is your earliest yarn memory? My mother\u2019s friend, Adele, taught me to knit when I was eight. I had trouble sitting still.
