From shawls to sweaters to throws, this yarn can't be beat for softness and sheer touch-ability. With solids, heathers, and beautiful self-striping 'painterly' colors, Homespun® comes in gorgeous shades you'll love. Please note that some colors have long, slow color variations that cause them to subtly stripe. This is deliberate and adds to the beauty of the finished garment; such yarns are designated as our 'painterly' colors.

Soft and warm Homespun

I have made 270 prayer shawls out of Homespun and the recipients love the colors and warmth. One ball of each color.

Perfect soft yarn for comfort shawls

For many years I have used this yarn to make comfort shawls for fellow girl scout leaders and girl scouts. We would pass the work around and the troop members would add a stich or many stitches and give it some love. We called them girl scout hugs. Lately I have had trouble finding the yarn in all the colors as after my girls grew up and left me, I still make the hugs for various people. I hope this is a temporary issue and not a discontinuation of the yarn. Here is a picture of one I made last week for one of my scouts who just had a baby. It's odd to realize they are all adults now, but they still keep in touch. I like to crochet shells on each end instead of fringe.
