GAUGE:

17 sts + 91/2 rows = 4" [10 cm] in ripple pattern BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc decrease): Insert hook into stitch and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next stitch and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTES:

To change color, work last stitch until 2 loops remain on hook, yarn over with new color, and draw yarn through 2 loops on hook to complete stitch.

Shaded Blanket Reviewed by Ashley Andrews on 2011-08-10 ****
This was a great pattern that gives immediate results. I love being able to see it forming on the very first row. I made this one as a gift for my grandma's 90th birthday. The only issue I had was that, despite the perfect guage, I ran out of 2 colors just before the last repetition of the colors.
