Ribbed Hat & Scarf

Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®

GAUGE:

11 sts and 12 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in K1, P1 Rib unstretched. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Break off yarn leaving an 18 inches end. Draw through rem sts and fasten securely. Sew center back seam, reversing seam at cuff.

SCARF

Cast on 180 sts loosely. Work in K1, P1 Rib for 6 inches. Bind off in Rib.

Fringe

Wrap yarn around cardboard 40 times. Cut through bottom to create 40 strands 10 inches long. Attach 20 strands at each short end of scarf by folding strand in half and using fingers or crochet hook to pull loop through to other side. Insert ends into loop and snug up to end of scarf. Trim edges of fringe.

Ribbed Hat & Scarf Reviewed by Sonvia on 2011-09-09 *****
I did a hat in grass to go with the zig zag scarf and it turned out good, fits well and keeps you warm. I checked my gauge 12 rows in (luckily it was perfect) and only used one skein and I have a bit left over :)
