Man's Poncho
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®
GAUGE:
8 sts + 13 rows = 4" [10 cm] in St st (knit on right side, purl on wrong side). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
This poncho is made of 2 rectangles worked sideways so the stripes run horizontally on the body. The rectangles are sewn together at the shoulders of the garment. Garment can also be worn so stripes are vertical.

FINISHING
Place pieces with wrong sides together, matching cast on and bound off edges. Sew pieces together with a running stitch just below the bound off edge so the edges form a ridge on the outside of the work. Sew for 22" [56 cm], starting at one edge. Fasten off. Sew second seam starting at the other edge for 22" [56 cm], leaving 18" [45.5 cm] in the center open for the neck opening. Weave in ends.

I made this pattern for both my brothers for Christmas, and they loved them! It was easy and the results are amazing.
