Striped Scarf

Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Chunky - Wool-Ease®

GAUGE:

12 sts + 17 rows = 4" [10 cm] in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with A. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Slipped Rib Pattern (multiple of 4 sts)
Row 1 (RS) *K 1, p 1, slip 1 with yarn in front, p 1; repeat from *.
Rows 2 and 4 *K 1, p 1; repeat from *.
Row 3 *Slip 1 with yarn in front, p 1, k 1, p 1; repeat from *.

SCARF

With A, cast on 48 sts.

*Work 14 rows of Basketweave Pattern. Knit 1 row.

Change to 2 strands of C held together. Purl 1 row. Work 14 rows of Slipped Rib Pattern. Knit 1 row.

Change to B. Purl 1 row, decrease 8 sts evenly spaced across row – 40 sts. Work 14 rows of Zig-Zag Pattern. Knit 1 row, increase 8 sts evenly spaced across row – 48 sts.

Change to A. Purl 1 row.

Repeat from * until piece measures 102" [259 cm] or desired length, ending with a complete color stripe. Bind off loosely. Weave in ends.
