Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®
GAUGE:
18 sts + 24 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Beg with a purl row, work 12 rows in St st. Work Stripe Sequence in St st until piece measures 6 (6½, 7, 8) inches [15 (16.5, 18, 20.5) cm] from beg, or 1½ (1¾, 2, 2½) inches [4
(4.5, 5, 6.5) cm] less than desired length, ending with a WS row.

Striped Cap Reviewed by BARBARA TRACEY on 2011-09-20
I love quick, easy knits, such a nice change from lace patterns. I made this cap in a non-striped homespun yarn and it was gorgeous. Since it was for my granddaughter I also added the flower from another LB pattern. The hat was so easy, fit well, she loves it, it is warm and washable. A win!!
