every row) for 6 rows.
Est pat: Next row (RS): K 2, place marker, k 22 (26, 30)
sts, place marker, k 2.
Next row: K 2, sl marker, p 22 (26, 30) sts, sl marker, k
2. Rep last 2 rows inc 1 st after first marker and 1 st before
second marker every 6 rows 5 times – 36 (40, 44) sts.
Note: Place marker on last inc row. Cont working first 2
sts and last 2 sts in garter st and center sts in St st until piece
meas 12 (13, 14)" from beg.
Shape neck:
Next row: Maintaining est pat, work 13 (15, 16) sts, join
another skein of yarn and bind off center 10 (10, 12) sts, work rem
13 (15, 16) sts. Work both sides at the same time in est pat for 4
more rows.
Back:
Next row: Maintaining est pat, work 13 (15, 16) sts, cast on 10
(10, 12) sts, drop second skein of yarn, work last 13 (15, 16) sts
– 36 (40, 44) sts. Cont working first 2 sts and last 2 sts in
garter st and center sts in St st until Back reaches inc marker on
Front. Maintaining est pat, dec 1 st after first marker and 1 st
before second marker every 6 rows 5 times – 26 (30, 34) sts. Cont
until Back meas same as Front. Bind off all sts.
HOOD: Cast on 15 (16, 17) sts. Work in garter st for 17
(18, 20)". Fold hood in half and sew back seam invisibly.
Position hood with seam at center back, front edges of hood meeting
at center front and ease in fullness along neck edge. Sew invisibly.
