GAUGE:

14 sts + 19 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) using larger needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Child's Easy Hooded Pullover Reviewed by Susan on 2009-09-05 *****
This was my first attempt at a sweater. Very easy instructions. Changed the pocket so my 11 year old daughter could warm her hands.
My 9 year old wants one now too!
