GAUGE:
12 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] over garter stitch (k every row) using size 10.5 [6.5mm] needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
WRISTLETS Make 2 Note: These wristlets are worked lengthwise.
Loosely cast on 30 stitches. Work even in garter stitch (knit every row) for 8" [20.5 cm]. Bind off.
Finishing: Seam sides starting at top as follows: sew 1 inch [2.5 cm] or desired length to thumb position; leave approx 1½ inch [4 cm] unsewn, then seam to bottom. Work in all ends.

I have made several pairs of these, and everyone loves them! I am even making a pair for my boyfriend's best friend. He works outside and thought they would be great to wear under his jacket.
