| Felting makes this little heirloom treat bag thick and strong! The intarsia design is simple and a great introduction to the technique! |

Felted Halloween Trick or Treat Bag
Lion Brand® Lion® Wool
GAUGE: 20 sts + 24 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in stockinette stitch before felting. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: Finished Bag size depends on how much the piece is felted. Keep in mind that you can always felt more, but once felting is done, it is not reversible. Pattern uses a very small quantity (about 24 inches [61 cm]) of the sage

| FELTING
Wash by machine on a hot wash/cold rinse cycle with detergent and several pieces of clothing to agitate. To felt additionally, dry by machine on a regular setting until almost dry. Remove from dryer and lie flat to shape. More about felting When dry, embroider the eyes, nose and mouth on the pumpkin as shown: |
Cut ribbon in half and tie a bow in the middle. Sew ribbon and bells, beads or other findings to the front of bag as shown (be sure to sew through the middle of the bow so it cannot come undone!) Note: If this is for a child under the age of 3, do NOT use any trim that can be detached and swallowed. Sew the ends of the ribbon to the back to create a handle. Repeat for second handle. | | | |
