GAUGE:

12 sts = 4 inches [10 cm] in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

Pattern is worked from the bottom to the top.

Lacy Suede Poncho Reviewed by Cat Bizz on 2008-12-09 ****
This poncho is beautiful. There are 2 problems with the pattern though. 1) The 10-inch opening for the head should be a little longer. 2) The poncho isn't wide enough for average shoulders. If you desire the poncho to hang over the shoulders as in the photo, you must make it wider. The yarn is very easy to work with and it comes out beautiful. I made this poncho in Lion Suede Fuchsia for my granddaughter. Wow! The fringe hangs beautifully. Just be sure to cast on VERY loosely and to cast off VERY loosely. Have fun with the pattern. I sure did.
