GAUGE: 14 sts + 17.5 rows = 4" (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Wrap Stitch (Bring yarn to front, slip next 4 sts, wrap, place slipped sts back on left needle, wrap around) 3 times.
M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between the needles and placing it onto the left needle. Work this new stitch through the back loop.
ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.

Cast on 57 sts and work 10 rows Stockinette St
(k on RS, p on WS).
Row 1 (RS) K 1, *(bring yarn to front, slip next
4 sts, wrap, place slipped sts back on left needle, wrap around) 3 times – Wrap st made, k 6; repeat from * to last 2 sts, k 2.
Row 2 and all even rows Purl.
Row 3 (inc) K 3, *M1, k 6; rep from * across –
66 sts.
Row 5 Knit.
Row 7 K 5, *Wrap st, k 7; repeat from * end last rep with k5.
Row 9 and 11 Knit.
Row 13 K 2 *Wrap st, k 7; repeat from *, to last st k1..
Crown decreases
Row 15 *K 5, ssk; rep from * to last 3 sts, k 3 –
57 sts.
Row 17 K 5, *ssk, k 4; rep from *, end last repeat with k2 – 48 sts.
Row 19 *K 5, * Wrap st; k5 rep from * to last 3 sts,
k 3.
Row 21 K 5, *ssk, k 3; rep from *, end last repeat with k 1 – 39 sts.
Row 23 K 1, *ssk, k 2; rep from * to last 2 sts, k 2 – 30 sts.
Row 25 K 1, *ssk, k 1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k 2 – 21 sts.
Row 27 K 1, ssk across row – 11 sts.
Row 28 Purl.
Work 6 rows St st. Bind off loosely.
FINISHING
Sew back seam.
