Knitted Beret
Lion Brand® Imagine
GAUGE: 18 sts + 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) in St st (k every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: | ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.

| Knitted Beret Reviewed by Mary Young on 2009-02-20 |

| When I knitted this cute beret I made the ribbing half the length. I made it in a grey and white herringbone worsted wool. I wear it back on my head not in the traditional style. Also if I had to do it over I think I would use some kind of fun fur on the ribbing to dress it up. I have received compliments. I just left the top not plain. Definitely a keeper. What a cool idea about blocking it over a dinner plate!
