Knit Ribbon Top & Scarf

Lion Brand® Incredible

GAUGE:

12 stitches + 20 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in garter stitch (knit every row).

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

Top is worked from side-to-side. To make longer or shorter, cast on more or less stitches at beginning.

BACK

Cast on 28 (30, 32, 35, 38) stitches. Knit 6 (8, 8, 8, 10) rows.

Shape Armhole

Row 1 Knit 2, knit in front and back of next stitch, knit to end – 1 stitch increased. Mark this row as right side.

Repeat last 2 rows 4 (4, 5, 6, 7) more times – 33 (35, 38, 42, 46) stitches. On next right side row, cast on 16 (16, 17, 17, 19) stitches for armhole – 49 (51, 55, 59, 65) stitches. Work even in garter stitch for 50 (56, 60, 66, 70) rows (approximately 10 (11, 12, 13, 14) inches), ending with a wrong side row.

Shape Armhole Bind off 16 (16, 17, 17, 19) stitches, knit to end – 33 (35, 38, 42, 46) stitches.

Next Row Knit.

Next Row Knit 2, knit 2 together, knit to end.
