Warm Up America Afghan
Lion Brand® Homespun®
GAUGE: Each Piece measures 7 inches x 9 inches (18 x 23 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

This pattern is GREAT! It was easy and fast, I followed the easy instructions.
Although, I changed mine a little from the pattern.
- I used size 11 knit circular needle.
- I made mine one square wider and one square longer.
- I used a method called the 'amazingly flat crochet seam' to sew the squares together, this method helps with hiding the loose ends.
- I crotchet around the afghan in the same color as I used in sewing the squares together. It really adds color to the afghan.
The instructions for the 'amazingly flat crochet seam' can be found at http://grumpygirl.blogs.com/home/2007/08/tutorial-the-am.html
I made this one for my local School's 2012 Graduation party as a name drawing gift.
