GAUGE:
8 sts = 4" [10 cm].
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
Sl 2 kwise-k1-p2sso Slip 2 stitches together knitwise (as though to knit), knit 1, pass 2 slipped stitches over the knit stitch = centered double decrease.

I have knit this shawl twice as in the Prayer Shawl Ministry book II. The finished product is beautiful - my favorite color being the waterfall, come up great. This is a time consuming project and requires a lot of concentration and counting, but well worth it!
