GAUGE:

12 sts and 18 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch (St st) using size 10ฝ (6.5mm) needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Cape: What a shame! Do not make Reviewed by Meg on 2013-03-17 *
What a shame I didn't see the reviews until I had knitted the darned thing. Yes, ti looks like a rectangle with baggy edges. I have a bad feeling when the pattern began to decrease immediately after the increases that this was going to end in tears. It looks NOTHING like the picture. Sadly I have knitted it for a friend who loved the picture and bought the yarn. I shall be unpicking it to where the decreases start and doing my own thing, I think. This pattern should not be on here, as the lovely picture does not represent at all the thing that you end up with if you follow the pattern.
