Lion Brand® Fun Fur® - Chenille Thick & Quick®

10 sts = 4 inches (10cm) in garter stitch with 2 strands of Fun Fur held together. 8 sts + 16 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch with Chenille Thick & Quick.
When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

Note: Lining is made widthwise.
With C, cast on 52 sts.
Purl 1 row.
Work in stockinette stitch (k on RS, p on WS) and cast on 3 sts at the beg of the next 4 rows, then 2 sts at the beg of the next 4 rows, then 1 st at the beg of the next 8 rows—80 sts. Continue in stockinette st until piece measures  7 inches from beg. Bind off 1 st at beg of next 8 rows, then 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows, then 3 sts at beg of next 4 rows -- 52 sts. Bind off all sts.

Note: Outer layer is made lengthwise.

With 1 strand each A and B held together, cast on 6 sts.

Knit 1 row.

Working in garter stitch (k every row) increase 1 stitch each side every other row 6 times, then every 4th row 6 times—30 sts.

Continue in garter stitch until piece measures 33 inches from beg.

Decrease 1 st each side every 4th row 6 times, then every other row 6 times—6 sts.

Bind off all sts.

Place WS of lining and capelet together and stitch along edges with matching DK or worsted-weight yarn. Tack layers together in several places if necessary.

Sew hook and eyes to fronts.

I like this! I just need to make the front tie ends knitted to tapered ends and for tieing into a bow or long draped tie ends.
