V-Neck 'Fur' Collar

Lion Brand® Fun Fur® - Lion® Suede

12 sts = 4 inches [10 cm] with 1 strand each A and B held together in Garter st (k every row) on larger needles. 13 sts = 4 inches [10 cm] with C in St st (k on RS, p on WS) on smaller needles. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

With larger needles and 1 strand each A and B held tog, cast on 30 sts, pm, cast on 30 sts, pm, cast on 30 sts−90 sts. Work 4 rows in Garter st (k every row). Bind off 1 st at beg of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows−114 sts. Bind off rem sts.

V-Neck 'Fur' Collar Reviewed by Sarah-Jane on 2011-10-16 *****
I've knitted this and have chosen to use a hook and eye fastening on the underside (so it is invisible) to wear with jackets. It looks very good and is far kinder than wearing real fur!
