Slit Scarf (Fun Fur Prints Label Pattern)

Lion Brand® Fun Fur®

GAUGE:

10.5 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm) in Seed Stitch. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

SEED STITCH (even number of stitches)
Row 1 *Knit 1, purl 1; repeat from * across.
Row 2 *Purl 1, knit 1; repeat from * across.

Repeat Rows 1-2 for pattern.


SCARF

Cast on 16 stitches. Work in Seed Stitch until piece measures 4 inches from beginning.

Work Slit even in pattern on first 8 stitches for 3 ˝ inches and place stitches on holder. Join yarn to remaining 8 stitches and work even for 3˝ inches, then work across all 16 stitches.

Continue in pattern until scarf measures 30 inches from beginning. Bind off all stitches. Weave in ends.

Quick and easy pattern but my friends love it. Great to create a scraf with college colors and I enjoy wearing with sweaters to work.
