GAUGE:
8 sts + 28 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in garter stitch (knit every row) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
There are no stitches in this piece! The width of the headband is simply that created by casting on plus binding off. The headband is very soft and stretchy.
HEADBAND
With one strand of A and one of B held together, cast on cast on 18 (26 ,36, 40) stitches. Bind off all stitches. Check for fit and sew ends together.
