GAUGE:

22 sts + 28 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with CC on larger needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Tiny Tot Beret Reviewed by Marilyn Kinnear on 2009-12-31 ***
This pattern does not seem designed for fun fur. I made it yesterday without success because errors are difficult to see and correct.I noticed from the 3 reviews that fun fur was not used. I believe, having been a knitter for 55 years, that other types of yarn would produce a very cute beret.
Hope this is useful to other knitters.
