Capelet, Hat, Scarf and Wristlets Set - Capelet Pattern

Lion Brand® Fun Fur® - Lion® Bouclé

10 sts + 18 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] with B over St st (k every round). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

The Capelet trim and the entire Hat, Scarf, and Wristlets are worked holding 2 strands together throughout.

Holding 2 ends of A tog, cast on 130 (140, 150, 160) sts. Being careful not to twist, place marker, join, and knit 1 rnd.

Rnd 2 Purl.

Rnd 3 Knit.

Rnd 4 Purl.

Change to rnds of St st and work even until piece measures 1½ inches [4 cm] from beg. Change to 1 strand of B and continue in St st, decreasing 10 sts evenly on next round – 120 (130, 140, 150) sts. Work even in rnds of St st until piece measures 10 (11, 12, 12) inches [25.5 (28, 30.5, 30.5) cm] from beg

Next (Decrease) Rnd *K1, k2tog; repeat from *; end k 0 (1, 2, 0). – 80 (87, 94, 100) sts.

Work even until piece measures 12½ (13½, 14½, 14½) inches [32 (34, 37, 37) cm] from beg.

Rep decrease rnd, end k 2 (0, 1, 1) – 54 (58, 63, 67) sts. Work 2 rnds even.

Rep decrease rnd once more, end k 0 (1, 0, 1) – 36 (39, 42, 45) sts.

Work even until piece measures 14 (15, 16, 16) inches [35.5 (38, 40.5, 40.5) cm] from beg.

Next Rnd Purl.

Next Rnd Knit.

Repeat last 2 rows for 1 inches [2.5 cm].

Bind off all sts loosely.

Capelet, Hat, Scarf and Wristlets Set - Capelet Pattern Reviewed by Isabel Stone on 2013-01-28 ****
I made this for my teen granddaughter. Looks sharp, but she had two comments: itchy and too short. Oh, well. the next one is for me ;-)
