SCARF
Cast On 32 stitches in A.
Work 18 rows in Stockinette stitch.
Cut yarn and tie on B at 2nd stitch. Cut A and weave in ends.
Work 6 rows in B in Stockinette stitch.
Cut yarn and tie in A at 2nd stitch.
Work 10 rows in A.
Cut yarn and tie in B.
Work 6 rows in B.
Cut yarn and tie in A.
Work 44 INCHES in A.
Cut yarn and tie in B.
Work 6 rows in B.
Cut yarn and tie in A.
Work 10 rows in A.
Cut yarn and tie in B.
Work 6 rows in B.
Cut yarn and tie in A.
Work 18 rows in A.
Bind off loosely with crochet hook. (This is using 2 loops, one thru one)
Bind off loosely at anchor yarn. Remove the anchor yarn.
HAT
Cast On 56 Stitches in A.
Start at top of hat. Place anchor yarn with double stand of matching color yarn.
Work in Stockinette for 21 rows.
Cut yarn and tie in B.
Work 6 rows in B.
Cut yarn and tie in A.
Work 16 rows in A.
Cut yarn.
Bind Off loosely off board with crochet hook. This is the Brim.
Leave in the anchor yarn at cast on stitches.
Sew the sides of hat together at smaller sides for back of hat using invisible stitch. Secure the brim edge with extra stitch.
Now draw the anchor yarn securely for the top of hat. Trim and tuck yarn tails inside.
Fold up brim.
