Free Crochet Pattern: Magic Chevrons

Lion Brand® Homespun®
Pattern #: justWrap
Designed by Katherine Eng. It’s hard to believe that just one yarn is used for this multicolored crocheted wrap—the yarn is dyed with extra-long color repeats to create its own stripes. There is minimal finishing and you never have to change colors.

GAUGE:

8 stitches = 4" (10 cm); Rows 1–3 = 21⁄2" (6.5 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Magic Chevrons Reviewed by Megan on 2012-12-09 ***
The wrap itself turned out beautifully. But these instructions were difficult in places to follow, and impossible in others. At times, I was forced to follow instinct rather than the actual instructions as they simply didn't make sense (the border, specifically. Why is 1 half of the long length supposed to be done with 2 skipped st, but the other half of the same length with only 1 skipped st???)

I'm only an intermediate crocheter, and I'd say this is definitely best for someone MUCH more accustomed to following patterns.
