It is very easy to crochet hat. It is not even understandable why the skill level is Intermediate.
The math is easy: you are adding stiches to every 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on stiches in each round. Like: in 1st increase rnd add 1sc to 2nd stich;in 2nd rnd you make 2 sc in 3rd stich , in 3rd round - you make 2 sc in 4th stich.
You do not even need to count the stiches in the rounds. Mark the beginning of the rnd and crochet: 2+1, 2+1, 2+1 (6+3=9) - first increase, crochet sc (count as first stich of the next rnd) and move the marker to this stich, then continue counting: 3+1, 3+1, 3+1 (9+3=12) and so on. 4+1, 5+1... I believe there were 11+1 increases for the size I made. I used the yearn described and finish hat in couple of hours. My son loved it!!! Enjoy!
