Harry Potter Wizard Scarf
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®
GAUGE:
15 stitches = 4 inches [10 cm]; 8 rows = 3 inches [7.5 cm] in hdc.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Pull ends of fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten. Make 27 fringes evenly across each end of scarf, alternating colors. Trim fringe if necessary.

Harry Potter Wizard Scarf Reviewed by Gretchen Peters on 2012-02-01
My son loves how his scarf looks. He is already commenting on how scratchy it feels due to the wool - we'll see if that effects how often he wears it. I was very pleased at how quickly I was able to make this scarf.
I made two adjustments to the pattern. My son wanted smaller blocks of color so I alternated between 8 rows of cranberry and 7 of gold instead of blocks of 15 rows. I also added some rows because the scarf came out a little short.
