GAUGE:

6.4 sc and 8 rows = 4 inches. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SOCKS (make 2)
Cuff
Beg at top of sock, ch 8.

Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across-7 sc. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2 Working through back loops only, 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Work even as est for cuff rib for 12½", stretched. Sew short ends of cuff tog.

Next rnd Work 20 sc evenly spaced across long edge of cuff. Ch 1, turn. Mark beg or rnd with a colored strand of yarn. Work even in sc until 7" from beg.

Next (dec) rnd Work 4 sc, dec 1 sc, place plastic marker, work 8 sc, dec 1 sc, place plastic marker, work 4 sc. Cont in sc rep dec rnd every other rnd once more dec 1 sc before each marker-16 sts rem. Work even in sc until 12" from beg, ending at beg of rnd.

Heel flap: Next row Sc to within 4 sts of beg marker. Work back and forth over the next 8 sc for 3". Remove dec markers. (Note: The rem 8 sc are for instep.)

Heel turning: Row 1 Work 3 sc, dec 1 sc, work 3 sc-7 sc.

Row 2 Work 2 sc, dec 1 sc, work 2 sc, turn.

Row 3 Work 2 sc, dec 1 sc, work 1 sc, turn.

Row 4 Work 1 sc, dec 1 sc, work 1 sc.

Gusset and foot: Next row Sc across the 3 sts of heel turning, work 6 sc along heel flap for heel gusset, place pastic marker, sc across 8 sts for instep, place plastic marker, work 6 sc along heel flap, place color strand of yarn for beg of rnd-23 sts.

Next rnd Sc to 2 sts before plastic marker, dec 1 sc, work 8 sc of instep, dec 1 sc, sc across rem sts.

Next rnd Work 1 rnd even in sc. Rep these 2 rnds 3 times more-15 sts. Work even in sc until foot meas 2" less than final length required.

Shape toe: Rnd 1 Sc to 2 sts before first marker, dec 1 sc, sc to next marker, dec 1 sc, complete rnd.

Rnd 2 Work 1 rnd even in sc. Rep Rnd 1-11 sts. Remove plastic markers.

Last (dec) rnd Work 1 sc, (dec 1 sc) 5 times-6 sts rem. Turn sock to wrong side. Draw yarn through rem sts and tighten. Fasten off.

Wasn't sure I made these right when counting around. But they turned out fine. Everyone on Facebook loves these. Used around the house and camping.
