GAUGE: 8 sc + 8 rows = 4" [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Rnd 3 With RS facing, join CC in front loop of any sc in Rnd 1, *ch 2, slip st in front loop of next sc; repeat from * around – 10 ch2-spaces. Fasten off CC, leaving a tail for sewing.
With large-eyed, blunt needle and tail, sew Flower to side of Hat on CC stripe. SCARF
With CC, ch 84.
Row 1 (RS) Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 83 sc.
Rnd 2 *Ch 10, slip st in front loop of each of next 2 sc; repeat from * across to last sc, ch 10, slip st in front loop of last sc; working across opposite side of foundation ch, slip st in first ch, **ch 10, slip st in each of next 2 ch; repeat from ** across to last ch, ch 10; join with slip st in base of first ch10-loop.
