GAUGE: 5 sts = 3 inches in sc. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: | sc2tog: Insert hook into st, pull up loop, insert hook into next st, pull up loop, yarn over hook and through all loops on hook (= 1 st decreased).

| THIS WAS FUN TO MAKE. I MADE IT A LIITLE MORE GIRLY BY SC IN EACH SC TWICE FOR THE LAST TWO ROWS AROUND. IT MADE A REALLY CUTE RUFFLE AROUND THE EDGE. THE HOOD HOWEVER NEEDS TO BE LARGER FOR THE 18 MONTH SIZE. I ADDED MORE ROWS AROUND THE OUTSIDE TO MAKE IT LONGER.
