INSTRUCTIONS (for one tassel) 1. Wrap yarn around 6" length of cardboard 100 times. 2. Cut 24" length of yarn, fold it in half, and thread through top of tassel and tie tightly. Cut other end open to remove cardboard. [Or, use a Twisted Cord to tie tassel: To create Twisted Cord, cut (2) 36" lengths of yarn; knot ends together. Hold knotted end in one hand, and with the other hand, twist yarn until taut. Carefully bring knotted and open ends together and allow yarn to twist around itself, pulling at bottom (center) to keep even. Knot all ends together at top.] 3. Using a 2-yard length of yarn folded in half, wrap yarn around tassel tightly several times about ¾" below top knot, and knot. If desired, repeat about ¾" down from first wrap. You can vary your tassels by using two colors. For a mixed effect, hold one strand of each color together when wrapping your tassel and only make half as many wraps. For a two-tone effect, make half the wraps with one color and the other half next to them with the second color.

| Perfect scarf tassels! Reviewed by sue baker on 2008-12-16 |

This was the perfect tassel for the ends of my scarf. I used a CD case to wrap around; it's 5 1/2 inches.Instead of binding off I finished the end of the scarf as you would on a stocking cap, threading the tail through remaining sts, pulling tightly to secure and tie off. With the 100 wraps I made the single tassel into 2 tassels, just the right size, and a single wrap near the top of the tassel. I used the twisted cord to tie the tassel through the hole where the stitches were joined.
A great pattern - and tassel!
