Concho Belt

Lion Brand® Lion® Suede

GAUGE:

Gauge is not important to this project BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

BELT

1. With a strand of yarn, measure comfortably around your waist and add 48 inches. Cut.

2. Cut four more pieces of yarn the same length.

3. Thread all five pieces through the right opening of a concho and position the concho in the middle of the yarn.

4. Slide two beads onto the center piece of yarn. If it is hard to get the yarn through the bead, pushing it with a toothpick can prove helpful.

5. Thread all yarn through the left opening of the concho.

6. Thread one bead on each strand of yarn.

7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 until all four conchos are threaded onto the yarn. Position them equally. If you want the bottom rows to drape (as shown in the picture, pull on those pieces of yarn between the conchos until they are hanging down as far as you want them to.

8. Tie a knot in each end of the yarn about two inches [5 cm] from the last concho.

9. Thread one bead on the end of each strand of yarn. Tie enough knots below it that the bead won't be able to come off the fringe.

10. Wear and enjoy the compliments!
