GAUGE:

4.25 sts and 2 rows = 1 inches on Size J-10 hook. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. 1960's Crochet 'Hippie' Vest Reviewed by Linda on 2011-07-10 ****
I made this "Hippie Vest" and it turned out just fine. Wanted it for a costume party. It reminded me of the first vest I made in the late 60's. It is fairly easy. The armholes are meant to be deep; afterall it is a hippie vest and at that time it was worn with billowly-sleeved blouses. I love it!
