GAUGE:

10 sts = 3 inches (7.5 cm) in single crochet. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Christmas Stocking Reviewed by BAILEE WELLISCH on 2010-11-13 *****
This stocking turned out adorable!! I love this pattern. I have made one, and I will be making 3 more before Christmas. Although, keep in mind that the green, and white colors are mixed up in the pattern. I followed it exactly and my main color turned out cream color instead of the green. No big deal though, it is still adorable!!
