GAUGE:

3 sc and 3.5 rows = 1 inches on Size J-10 hook. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

'Easy Does It' Baby Blanket Reviewed by Lea Mollman on 2013-06-09 *****
I started this afghan years ago when the pattern was first published. I hate sewing up, so I figured out a way to crochet straight across, with the skeins lined up in correct order in flat fund-raiser candy boxes, so they don't tangle. Too big to carry around easily though! I was almost half-way done when I gave up and put it away, but have now pulled it out again, and am determined to finish it. The colors are much softer than those pictured.
