GAUGE: 14 sts and 16 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] in single crochet using Size K-10.5 crochet hook. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: | To inc: Work 2 sc in 1 sc. To dec: *Insert hook
in sc, yo and draw through a lp; rep from * once in next sc,
yo and draw through 3 lps on hook. Popcorn (PC): In
same sc, [insert hook, yo and draw through a lp, yo and
through 1 lp on hook] 4 times, yo and draw lp through rem 5
lps on hook, ch 1 to close. Push to RS of panel.

PANEL A: Row 1 (RS): With 2 strands of A held
together, ch2. Work 3 sc into 2nd ch from hook -- 3sc. Ch 1,
turn.
Row 2, 4, 6 and 8 (WS): 1 sc in each st across. Ch 1,
turn.
Row 3: Inc in first st, 1 sc in next st, inc in last st
-- 5 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 5: Inc in first st, 1 sc in each st to last st,
inc. in last st -- 7 sc, Ch 1, turn.
Row 7: Rep Row 5 -- 9 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 9: Rep Row 5 --11 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 10: 1 sc in each of next 5 sts, 1 PC in next st, 1
sc in each of next 5 sts. Ch 1, turn.
Row 11: Rep row 5--13sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 12: 1 sc in each of next 5 sts, 1 PC in next st, 1
sc in next st, 1 PC in next st, 1 sc in each of next 5 sts. Ch
1, turn.
Row 13: Dec over first 2sts, 1 sc in each st to
last 2 sts, dec over last 2 sts-11 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 14: Rep Row 10
Row 15: Rep Row 13-9 sc.
Rows 16, 18 and 20: Rep Row 2
Row 17: Rep Row 13--7 sc.
Row 19: Rep Row 13--5sc.
Row 21: Rep Row 13--3 sc. Rep Rows 2-21 until a total
of 8 popcorn diamonds have been worked. At end of last rep, ch
1, turn. Draw up a lp in each of the rem 3 sc, yo and draw
yarn through all lps on hook. Ch 1 and fasten off, leaving a
7" tail. Mark end of panel as top of panel.
PANEL B: With 2 strands of B held tog, rep Panel A.
Work until 7 popcorn diamonds have been worked. End as for
Panel A and do not cut yarn. Mark end of panel as top of
panel. Use photo as guide, join Panel B to Panel A as foll:
position top of Panel B so that point of diamond lines up with
center of diamond at top of Panel A. Sl st panels tog, making
sure that diamonds fit into each other evenly. Alternate
working Panels A and B, joining as each panel is completed,
until there are 9 A panels and 8 B panels.
FINISHING: Picot edging: *Ch 2, sl st to 2nd ch from
hook, sc to panel; rep from *. With RS facing, join 2 strands
of A to corner point of Panel A. Ch 1, work picot edging
evenly around entire throw as foll: work 3 sc around top of
each diamond to maintain point, work approx 5 picot along each
side of diamond at top and bottom and approx 10 picot along
each diamond at side edges. End sl st to beg ch 1.
Fringe: Cut 12 strands of A, each 11" long. Fold
the 12 strands in half. With RS facing, insert hook through
point of diamond of Panel A, pull folded end of strands
through to form loop, then pull ends through loop and tighten.
Using photo as guide, in same way, cut yarn and matching
colors, attach fringe to each diamond point along top and
bottom of throw. Trim fringe.

| I've made this one twice. It looks absolutely amazing in blue and white. I think I'm the most proud of this one, actually. Like someone else said, it calls for a lot more yarn than the pattern says. I think I had to almost double what it says to get, so keep that in mind if you're on a budget!
