Light-as-a-Feather Stole

GAUGE:

10 sts = 3". BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

STITCH DESCRIPTION: Raised tr at the front (1 tr/rf) Yo (2 times), insert hook from front and from right to left around the post of the designated st, yo, draw yarn through, (yo, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook) 3 times.


STOLE: Ch 74.
Row 1: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across--71 dc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. 1 sc in each st across.
Row 3: Ch 3, turn. *1 dc in next sc, skip 2 sc, 1 tr/rf in each of next 2 sts in dc row below, 1 dc in each of next 4 sc, 1 tr/rf in front of the last 2 dc just worked and into the 2 sts in the dc row below, skip 2 sc, 1 dc in next sc; rep from *, end 1 dc in last sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn. 1 sc in each st across. Rep Rows 3 & 4 until stole meas 80", end pat Row 4.

BORDER: Ch 3, turn. Work 1 row dc across. Work 1 row reverse sc, working from left to right, across. Fasten off. At other narrow end of stole, join yarn with 1 sl st and work 1 row reverse sc, working from left to right, across. Fasten off.

this pattern is not perfect but good. if you follow the directions exactly, you will end up decreasing each row in a major way and have a weird triangle thing. It is meant to be a rectangle. To make it work, chain 1 after the single tr/rl in each row 3 repetiton.
