GAUGE: 16 sc = 4" (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| I made this Beret a few years ago and it turned out so well I ended up making one for my niece and best friend also. They loved their hat. I used the soft cream mohair yarn for two of them and it was just beautiful. For the third one I used the soft mohair yarn in the mixed colors and it also turned out beautiful. My niece loved that one and took it. This pattern wasn't hard to make at all and didn't take me long to make them. I want to say I had it made within an hour or so.
