GAUGE: 10 sc + 12 rows = 4" [10 cm] with A on larger hook.
(Shell, sc) = 2½" [6.5 cm], 8 rows = 4" [10 cm] in pattern with A on larger hook. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Shell 5 dc in same st.
Picot After making tr, ch 3, insert hook from top down under front loop of same tr AND under 1 strand just forward of front loop; slip st to close.

Rnd 3 With B and smaller hook, join with slip st in any ch4-loop, ch 1, (sc, hdc, 2 dc, 2 tr, Picot, tr, 2 dc, hdc, sc) in same loop – Petal made, *skip next 2 ch4-loops, Petal in next loop.
