GAUGE: 10 sc + 12 rows = 4" [10 cm] with A on larger hook.
(Shell, sc) = 2½" [6.5 cm], 8 rows = 4" [10 cm] in pattern with A on larger hook. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Piece should measure approximately 6½" [16.5 cm] in diameter. Rnd 10 (WS) Ch 3, dc in same st, sc in 3rd dc of next Shell, [Shell in next sc, sc in 3rd dc of next Shell] 7 times, 3 dc in same st as beg; join with slip st in top of beg ch; turn. Rnd 11 (RS) Ch 1, sc in same st, Shell in next sc, [sc in 3rd dc of next Shell, Shell in next sc] 7 times; join with slip st in beg sc; turn. Rnds 12-17 Repeat Rnds 10-11 for 3 times. Fasten off. Weave in ends. FLOWER Rnd 1 With A and larger hook, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with slip st in beg sc. Rnd 2 (Ch 4, slip st) 2 times in same sc, (ch 4, slip st) 3 times in each of next 5 sc, ch 4; join with slip st in same sc as beg; fasten off – 18 ch4-loops. Rnd 3 With B and smaller hook, join with slip st in any ch4-loop, ch 1, (sc, hdc, 2 dc, 2 tr, Picot, tr, 2 dc, hdc, sc) in same loop – Petal made, *skip next 2 ch4-loops, Petal in next loop. Repeat from * for 4 more Petals; join with slip st in beg sc – 6 Petals. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Sew optional pin back to back of Flower, or sew Flower in place as pictured.
