GAUGE:

4 V-sts + 5 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in V-st pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

'Little Victory' Blanket Reviewed by Kate Hetu on 2008-05-01 *****
I love this pattern, and use it as my "go-to" pattern for baby blankets if I don't know what pattern to make. The pattern stitch is easy, the blanket comes together quickly, and it's washable (so important with babies!)

I use not just the homespun baby, but normal homespun as well if I'm looking for a greater color variety. I can match nursery colors much more easily that way!
