GAUGE: 10 sts = 4" on size K hook. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Rnd 6: *1 sc in each of next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep from * around -- 54 sc. Work even in sc until 7" from center top of crown. Mark beg of rnd for back of the right earflap. POMPOMS (make 2): Wrap yarn around a 3" piece of cardboard approx 300 times. Slip a separate piece of yarn under wraps at one edge and tie securely. Cut yarn at other edge. Trim and secure a pompom to each end of ch on earflaps.

| Super Cute. I changed it up a bit and had to continue on in the pattern until i got to the multiple of 90 because i was using thinner yarn and have an abnormally large head but overall it turned out well. First hat I've ever made and I'm very happy with it.
