GAUGE:

10 sc and 11 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in single crochet. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Diagonal Pattern Baby Blanket Reviewed by Denise on 2008-11-30 *****
I made two of these blankets over the last few days. The pattern is fast and easy. It is a very portable project, too. I would carry it around with me from room to room when working on it. I even took it with me for Thanksgiving dinner and sat on the couch and talked with family while working on it.
