Lion Brand® Homespun® Baby - Babysoft® - Magic Stripes

GAUGE:

10 hdc + 7.5 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] with MC on largest hook.
16 sc + 20 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] with A on middle-sized hook.
20 sc + 23 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] with B on smallest hook. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Birthday Baby Pocket Cardigan & Hat Reviewed by Davida McMullen on 2009-09-26 ****
I did this hat in 65sts and it fit my 7 year old grandson. If I were to do it in 71 sts. it would fit my husband. This the simplest hat pattern I have ever seen in my life and can do it within an hour. Great for making at the dentist or waiting at music lessons or even in a traffic jam.
