GAUGE: 10 sc = 4 inches (10 cm); each square measures 8 inches x 8 inches. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

AFGHAN (made up of 35 squares) SQUARE
Using MC, ch 21.
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (20 sc).
Row 2 Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. Rep Row 2 for 5 inches. Change to CC and work for 3 inches more. Fasten off.FINISHING
Sew squares tog invisibly as per ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM below. BORDER
With MC, attach yarn in any corner. Work in sc for 2 rnds, working 3 sc in each corner each rnd. | ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM

| This is my first time using Homespun. And oh goodness, it is so difficult. Took me forever just to sc in the starting chain. The wavy style of it just doesn't work for me. But I do like how nice and soft it is. And very pretty colors.
