Lion Brand® Homespun®
GAUGE: 10 sc = 4 inches (10 cm); each square measures 8 inches x 8 inches. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

AFGHAN (made up of 35 squares) SQUARE
Using MC, ch 21.
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (20 sc).
Row 2 Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. Rep Row 2 for 5 inches. Change to CC and work for 3 inches more. Fasten off.FINISHING
Sew squares tog invisibly as per ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM below. BORDER
With MC, attach yarn in any corner. Work in sc for 2 rnds, working 3 sc in each corner each rnd. | ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM

| Great pattern, although I also wanted a bigger afghan so I added 2 more squares to the width and 3 more to the length for a total of 70 squares. I used Wool-Ease Worsted Weight yarn, Wood (12 skeins) and Oxford Grey (5 skeins)colors, instead of the Homespun. It would of course take much less to do the pattern according to the written size. I also didn’t do the border as I preferred it without one. I’m very pleased with the result!
