GAUGE:
16 stitches = 4 inches [10 cm] in single crochet.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

| Bronze Evening Bag Reviewed by Janet Krenn on 2008-02-11 |

I made this purse as a Christmas present for my best friend, and I was approached by my mother and sister-in-law, who both wanted one too.
A simple weekend project, the bag takes very little time to crochet. This left me with plenty of time to add some beading details.
The design also works well with a small handle, if you're not a clutch fan.
