Valentines Striped Fingerless Mitts

GAUGE:

10 single crochet = 4 inches [10 cm]. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

MITTS – Make 2
With A, chain 19. Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and each chain across; turn – 18 single crochet. Chain 1, single crochet in each single crochet across; turn. Repeat this row twice more with A, then work 4 rows B and 4 rows C. Repeat stripe pattern as established (4 rows A, 4 rows B, 4 rows C) 1 more time. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Sew side seam, leaving center white stripe open for thumb. Weave in ends.
