Party Tote

Lion Brand® Fancy Fur - Fun Fur® - Chenille Thick & Quick®

GAUGE:

10 sc + 9.5 rows = 4 inches [10 cm] with 1 strand each of A and B held tog. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

TOTE

BOTTOM

With 1 strand each of A and B held tog, ch 31.

Row 1 (RS) Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 30 sc.

Rows 2-6 Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn.

Fasten off.

FIRST SIDE

Row 1 With RS of Bottom facing, join 1 strand each of A and B in 4th row-end st on right side of Bottom, ch 1, sc in each of next 3 row-end sts; sc in each sc across top edge, sc in each of next 3 row-end sts on left side of Bottom; turn – 36 sc.

Work even on 36 sc until First Side measures 8" [20.5 cm] from beginning of Side. Fasten off.

SECOND SIDE

Row 1 With RS of Bottom facing, join 1 strand each of A and B in first row-end st to the right of last st made in Row 1 of First Side, ch 1, sc in each of next 3 row-end sts, sc in each foundation ch across, sc in each of next 3 row-end sts on second edge; turn – 36 sc.

Work even on 36 sc until Second Side measures same as First Side. Fasten off.

STRAP – Make 2

With C, ch 61.

Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 60 sc.

Round 1 Ch 1, slip st evenly around Strap, working 2 slip sts in each corner; join with slip st in first slip st. Fasten off.

ASSEMBLY

With RS facing, using large-eyed blunt needle and A, slip st sides tog from top to bottom, matching sts. Fasten off. Turn Tote right side out. With C, sew end of each Strap to inside of Tote on either side.
