GAUGE: 10 sts + 10 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in single BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: Changing colors Colors in crochet are changed on the last loop before actually beginning to work with the new color. For example, to make a single crochet stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop (2 loops on hook). Tie on the new color and pull that color through both loops.

| I love this pattern!! I've made many of these pocket wraps and donate them to a local nursing home. Since I use yarn donated to me by others, I can't be picky about what kind it is therefore, I've had to modify the pattern a bit. Using a size K hook, I start with 50 hdc (52ch) and make them 150 rows long which is approx. 18" wide and 70" long. I normally make the end sections 26 rows long then the stripes either 6 or 10 rows wide depending on how many colors I have to work with. Some of the wraps I've made have only been two colors and others have had 5 or 6 colors in them, just depends on what yarn I have available that goes together and what mood I'm in at the time. For the pockets, I do 25 hdc (27ch) and make them each 15 rows long. I leave a pretty long tail when I'm finished so I have enough to sew the pocket onto the wrap. I pin the pocket onto the wrap using hair roller picks to keep it place while sewing. I just catch the edge of the stitches of the last row of the pocket so my stitches can hardly be seen and go through to the wrap itself and go through a stitch and come back up. When finished, I make sure to go back and forth both ways on both ends to ensure the tails don't work their way out. (I do make a knot at the beginning just to ensure they don't come out.) Sorry I don't have pictures to share but mine aren't in the proper format you require.
