8 sc = 4 inches [10 cm] When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size
specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be
sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what
the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person.
If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller
size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Plush Throw: Reviewed by Becky Knipp on 2011-06-08
This is very easy, all single crochet, and was a good project for me to start back crocheting after not having done it in years. I chose to do it in the Kaleidoscope Chenille Thick & Quick which wasn't the wisest idea. Even though the yarn was pretty, it was too dark making it very difficult to see whether I was working in the back loop or not. I recommend using a lighter color yarn. It came out very heavy, thick and warm!
